DevOps Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior DBA Engineer to join our team to support a key client (a leading enterprise SaaS provider). In this role, you will take full ownership of designing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-scale production database environments supporting their core platforms.
You will work closely with offshore engineering teams, cloud architects, AI/ML developers, and client stakeholders to ensure peak performance, robust security, high availability, and seamless scalability across cloud-native multi-tenant SaaS architectures—while driving database infrastructure readiness for modern AI technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Install, configure, patch, and maintain high-performance enterprise database environments, focusing on Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) and Azure SQL Database / Managed Instances.
- Proactively monitor database health, analyze execution plans, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, index structures, and partitioning to handle enterprise-scale transaction volumes.
- Implement and maintain robust High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) strategies—including Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and Azure SQL Elastic Pools—to guarantee zero data loss and maximum uptime.
- Leverage modern AI tools and LLM assistance to accelerate day-to-day database administration—such as AI-assisted query optimization, automated T-SQL script generation, intelligent root-cause analysis, proactive performance tuning, and automated documentation.
- Enforce strict database security controls, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and compliance auditing for sensitive data.
- Partner with offshore engineering teams and client stakeholders to review schema migrations, design data models, and automate database deployment pipelines within CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps/Git.
- Develop scripts (PowerShell, Shell, or Python) to automate routine maintenance tasks and alerts; participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and high-priority incident handling.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 ~ 7 years of dedicated experience as a Database Administrator managing enterprise-scale relational database systems.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills are mandatory for daily interaction with offshore client teams.
- Microsoft SQL Server (2016+), Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
- Microsoft Azure (experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, or Cosmos DB is a strong plus).
- Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools and LLM assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Azure AI services) to streamline daily DBA tasks, optimize complex T-SQL queries, write PowerShell/automation scripts, and accelerate troubleshooting/RCA.
- Advanced T-SQL, PowerShell, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Azure DevOps / Git.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across distributed/offshore engineering teams and client stakeholders.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator, AWS Certified Database, or PostgreSQL Professional) is a big plus.
